The Cub Scout program is designed to grow with your child — from Kindergarten through 5th grade, every year brings new challenges, new achievements, and new adventures.
Cub Scouts progresses through six ranks, one for each grade level from Kindergarten through 5th grade. Each rank has its own adventures, achievements, and uniform to grow into.
Every rank is tailored to the age and development of the scout. Adventures get bigger, skills get deeper, and leadership grows naturally from year to year.
Lions are Cub Scouting's youngest members and participate as an adult-child partner team. This year is all about curiosity, exploration, and introducing the Scout Oath in a fun, playful way.

Every new Cub Scout — regardless of grade — begins by earning the Bobcat Award. This covers the Scout Oath, Scout Law, motto, sign, and handshake. It's quick, welcoming, and establishes the foundation for everything that follows.
Each rank has a set of required adventures completed in den meetings — covering outdoor skills, fitness, citizenship, and character. These are the core experiences that define each rank.
Beyond required adventures, scouts choose from a wide menu of elective options — from STEM to music to cooking. These can be started any time and let scouts pursue their personal interests.
Achievements are recorded in the free Scoutbook app and at advancements.scouting.org. Ranks are awarded at pack meetings — a proud moment for scouts and families alike.
