“We are in the business of making memories.”

Pack 62 is Erie’s original Cub Scout Pack, chartered by the Knights of Columbus, St. Scholastica Council #15751 out of Erie, Colorado and is run locally by adults who have volunteered their time, talents and energy to bring the Cub Scouting program to Erie.

History:  Pack 62 was originally chartered by the Erie United Methodist Church on February 17, 1962.  In the early-80s, St. Scholastica Catholic Church assumed responsibility and in March of 2006, the Knights of Columbus at St. Theresa in Frederick, Colorado became our Chartered Organization.  In 2013, the charter was transferred to the Knights of Columbus at St. Scholastica in Erie, Colorado.

Today: Pack 62 is a vibrant, active Pack with over 70 Scouts.  We are self-supporting, holding a single fund-raiser in the fall (selling Trails End popcorn).  The commission earned from this sale provides the funds necessary to operate the Pack for the year and helps to reduce costs for Scouts to participate in activities.  The Pack also uses the money to secure meeting space, purchase awards, patches, Pinewood derby kits, Blue & Gold supplies, training aides for leaders, and countless other supplies for the running of the Pack.

Camping:  Our goal is to prepare Cub Scouts for the adventure of Boy Scouting by getting them outdoors as much as possible. Over the past several years, the Pack has been on a minimum of three (3) camp-outs each year.  A permanent Camping Committee was established to ensure that this goal is achieved.

Traditions:  We have quite a few of them.  Pack 62 combines traditional Scouting activities (Pinewood Derby, Blue & Gold Banquet, etc.) with new events (Winterfest @ Snow Mountain Ranch, the Down ‘n’ Dirty Pinewood Derby, etc.) to make Cub Scouting as fun and interesting as possible.  Not wanting to rest on what has always been done, we are constantly looking for new ideas and actively seek fresh input.

Volunteers:  Pack 62 has been blessed with numerous dedicated volunteers and we encourage all Scout families to participate.

Thanks for helping us make Pack 62 the best that it can be for the boys!  We are glad to have you join us.  Get involved and find out how much fun you will have learning and exploring the world with your son in Cub Scouting!
